Déjà-Vu Non-Alcoholic Aperitif: Product and Tonic Guide
Discover Oriental Déjà-Vu's non-alcoholic version, how to identify the right bottle and a simple tonic serve with adjustable proportions.
Déjà-Vu is not limited to its alcoholic aperitif. The producer explicitly lists Oriental Déjà-Vu alkoholfrei, meaning alcohol-free, alongside the regular Oriental product and other drinks. Look for the full product name rather than choosing by bottle shape or brand alone. Source: official product range .
Identify the actual product
The regular Oriental aperitif is described with citrus, ginger and spice. The non-alcoholic version is a separate product. That does not mean every Déjà-Vu bottle, Aloha variant or ready-to-drink serve is non-alcoholic.
Check the product name and alcohol statement on the bottle being sold. Availability outside Germany may differ. Use current producer and retailer information rather than assuming an older promotion or a general search result reflects today’s stock.
A simple non-alcoholic Déjà-Vu tonic
For one glass:
- 50 ml Oriental Déjà-Vu non-alcoholic
- 100 ml tonic water
- 30 ml soda
- Ice and grapefruit or orange peel
Pour the aperitif over ice, add tonic and soda, then stir gently once. These proportions are a starting recipe to adjust. Taste before adding syrup because both the aperitif and tonic may already contribute enough sweetness.
Choose a mixer deliberately
Soda reveals the base more clearly. Tonic adds another bitter component. Ginger ale can reinforce a ginger direction but also brings its own sweetness. Compare small servings first and avoid combining several strongly flavoured mixers at once.
If the tonic serve feels too intense, replace 30 ml tonic with extra soda. If it feels thin, reduce the water first. A fresh citrus twist changes aroma without adding a large quantity of sweetness.
Common questions
Can I use the regular Déjà-Vu instead?
That would no longer match this non-alcoholic preparation. Choose the explicitly labelled alcohol-free product.
Does it need non-alcoholic sparkling wine?
No. The tonic highball only needs the base, mixer and ice. A sparkling-wine spritz is a separate serving option.
