Easy Mocktail Recipes with Just a Few Ingredients
Easy mocktails need a clear base, a suitable mixer and sometimes a little acidity.
Easy mocktails need a clear base, a suitable mixer and sometimes a little acidity. Fewer ingredients make it easier to understand what changes the balance.
Three starting recipes
| Drink | Ingredients per glass | Method |
|---|---|---|
| Apple ginger | 60 ml apple juice, 120 ml ginger ale, 15 ml lime | Build over ice |
| Pineapple fizz | 100 ml pineapple juice, 80 ml soda, 20 ml lime | Mix juice, add soda last |
| Orange bitter | 40 ml orange, 120 ml bitter lemon, 30 ml soda | Stir directly in the glass |
Ice and an optional garnish are not counted as the main flavour ingredients here. You do not need a shaker when combining clear liquids directly in a glass.
Keep shopping manageable
Choose two juices, plain sparkling water and one flavoured mixer. That gives you several combinations without accumulating half-used syrup bottles. Lemon or lime helps with balance; start with small quantities.
Use chilled ingredients and enough ice. Warm juice needs more melting ice and changes the planned ratio. Taste the base and mixer together before adding sweetness. A good simple drink does not necessarily require a spirit alternative.
Common question
What if it is too sweet? Replace some sweet mixer with water. Lemon changes acidity but does not reduce the sugar already present. Change one ingredient at a time and note your preferred ratio.
