Strawberry Colada Mocktail: Berries, Pineapple and Coconut
A strawberry colada mocktail blends strawberries with pineapple and coconut milk.
A strawberry colada mocktail blends strawberries with pineapple and coconut milk. Strawberry changes the fruit direction from a classic piña colada. Frozen fruit helps keep the mixture creamy.
The quantities make one serving. Measure the ingredients before mixing and chill any mixer. Syrups, juices and bottled alternatives vary in sweetness and acidity, so taste the base before topping up.
Ingredients for one serving
- 100 g frozen strawberries
- 70 ml pineapple juice
- 50 ml coconut milk
- 10 ml lime juice
- Optional 5–10 ml simple syrup
Method
- Stir coconut milk smooth.
- Add to a blender with strawberries, pineapple and lime.
- Blend until creamy and taste.
- Sweeten lightly if needed and serve immediately.
Getting the balance right
Sweet pineapple can balance tart strawberries well, so add syrup only after blending. If the mixture is too thick, add water in small increments. More juice also thins it but simultaneously increases sweetness.
Variation and substitutions
Add 50–80 g ice when using fresh strawberries. For less coconut flavour, replace half the coconut milk with unsweetened oat drink, accepting a different texture.
Preparing several servings
Measure juice, purée and syrup shortly before serving. Add ice and carbonated ingredients when you make the drink. To serve a group, multiply the quantities, but adjust one glass first before mixing the whole pitcher.
Common question
Can I use strawberry syrup?
It does not replace the fruit’s texture. Start with 10–15 ml, adjust ice or pineapple and omit added simple syrup.
